Staff - Branch Highlight

The Wilmington-Stroop Branch has a staff of 12 full and part-time librarians and library workers who assist patrons, plan and conduct programs, and engage in outreach to the community. Patrons who need computer training can attend classes or schedule individual help. Additional part-time aides (both adults and teens) shelve books and assist the staff in keeping the Library looking neat and orderly.

Community Connection

The Wilmington-Stroop Branch is a valued partner for the community. Whether through offering collaborative programming with Rosewood Arts Centre or by collaborating with the City of Kettering Parks and Recreation Department in studying the feasibility of a joint facility, the Branch staff strives to meet the needs of the community in innovative ways. Connected to the business community, "Wil-Stroop" is an active member of the KMO Chamber. With a strong focus on education, the Branch partners with local education centers to provide library cards, materials, programming and other services to schools, teachers and students in Kettering City Schools, as well as other area schools and daycares.

Construction is in full gear to build a new larger Wilmington-Stroop Branch at the old site. In addition to creating a 21st century Library, the work will improve access and egress to the parking lot. The opening is anticipated in Spring 2019. Click below for a floor plan and rendering.
