Help us keep your library safe.

To help control the spread of COVID-19, Dayton Metro Library has modified some services and policies. Thank you for helping us stop the spread of the coronavirus. We look forward to resuming our normal operations and policies in the future.

Here are some of the changes you can expect at your next visit to the Library.

Limited Hours, All Locations Open: Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 6 pm | Closed: Sunday

Effective November 10, 2020, masks covering the nose and mouth are required at all times while inside the Library (age 6 and older). If you are unable to wear a mask for any reason, please use our extensive online, phone and/or Curbside Services.

  • Use public computers & laptops.
  • Use printers, copiers, scanners, fax.
  • Bring family or friends, but please limit your group to under 10 people.
  • Continue to use Curbside Service if you prefer

Sorry, at this time we are unable to...

  • Admit anyone not wearing a mask.
  • Provide access to our meeting or tutor rooms
  • Offer toys, games, puzzles or craft supplies for children
  • Offer access to gaming systems
  • Offer in-person classes or programs at this time
  • Admit groups of more than 10
  • Permit food or beverage inside the Library.

We ask that you..

  • Wear a mask at all times while inside the Library; masks are provided if needed.*
  • Wear your mask covering your nose and mouth.
  • Maintain 6ft distancing.
  • Refrain from eating or drinking while inside the Library.
  • If visiting as a family or group, keep your group together.
  • Keep your Library visit to under an hour.

*DML follows the City of Dayton mask mandate requiring children 6 and older to wear a mask.

We will...

  • Be wearing masks.
  • Provide disposable masks for those who need them.
  • Quarantine all returned materials for 24 hours.
  • Provide hand sanitizing stations.
  • Disinfect public equipment and work stations according to current CDC guidelines, or upon request.
  • Limit capacity in each building.

Reserve items you want using our online catalog, or call the Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665 for assistance. You will be notified when your items are ready to be borrowed. At that time, call the Library to make arrangements for Curbside Service, or use the convenient DML App on your phone or device. Bagged materials are placed directly into vehicle trunks.*

Make arrangements for picking up your requested materials - without having to call. If you already have the DML app installed on your phone or device, My Curbside Pickup is activated when you have materials ready for you to borrow. If you need to install the app, search for “Dayton Library” in the App Store, Google Play or Kindle.

  1. When you have items ready for pickup, tap the I’m On My Way button to let us know you’re coming. You’ll be asked to enter what color/type of vehicle you’re in. At this time, we will check the items out to you, bag and label them.
  2. When you arrive at the Library, tap I’m Here! We’ll bring your materials out, place them in your trunk, and you’re off!*

*At some Branch Libraries you may have to park and exit your car to pick up your bagged materials at the Library entrance.

Expanded Curbside Services!

Copy, Print, Fax + Scan

In addition to picking up Library materials you’ve requested, Curbside Service now includes copying, faxing and scanning. Print items directly from your phone, tablet or computer to the Branch where you want to pick them up using Mobile Print. Call the Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665 to make arrangements for these services.
